The AAA Car Buying Service, which some clubs call the AAA Auto Buying Program, lets AAA members find a car, enter a membership number, find a participating dealer and get member pricing (aaa.com, as of October 2026). In most club areas the program is powered by TrueCar, which operates the website with pricing and vehicle data for purchases at participating dealers (aaa.com, as of October 2026). The Broker Black is launching in Arizona. Where a participating dealership serves your area, it shows that dealership's new cars as a loan, a lease (monthly, one-pay, or with deposits), and a cash purchase, with the taxes and fees for your city, before you talk to anyone. The Broker Black is not a broker, and it does not negotiate: the dealership sells or leases the car and completes the purchase directly with you.

AAA's service and The Broker Black both let you see a dealer price before you visit, and with both, the dealership sells you the car. They differ in who can use them and in what you see: AAA's service is a member benefit, and The Broker Black takes no outside membership, only a complimentary account, and shows each new car as a loan, a lease, and a cash purchase for your city.

Quick answers.

Do I need to be a AAA member to use the AAA Car Buying Service?

Non-members can search and compare vehicles, but AAA membership is needed to buy through AAA or at a certified dealer with member savings (aaa.com, as of October 2026). Some manufacturer incentives require more than 60 days of membership (aaa.com, as of October 2026).

Does AAA sell me the car?

Vehicles are offered for sale by licensed dealers, and neither TrueCar nor AAA Mountain West Group brokers, sells or leases motor vehicles (aaa.com, as of October 2026). The member connects with a participating dealer to test drive and buy (aaa.com, as of October 2026).

Who sets the member price, and is it the lowest price?

Each Certified Dealer sets its own pricing, and in California the Auto Club pre-arranges pricing with the selling dealer (aaa.com, as of October 2026). AAA states that member pricing may not be the lowest possible price (aaa.com, as of October 2026).

Can I use both?

Yes. Nothing stops a shopper from using AAA and also checking a participating dealership's published price for a new car on The Broker Black.
