Brand guide

Volkswagen lineup.

Volkswagen's pitch is drive quality: solid, planted, European road manners at mainstream prices. The lineup runs from the $23K Jetta to the three-row Atlas, with the GTI and Golf R carrying the enthusiast flag and the ID.4 handling electric duty.

Every new Volkswagen carries a 4 year / 50,000 mile New Vehicle Limited Warranty covering the powertrain for the same term, plus 2 years / 20,000 miles of Carefree Maintenance (scheduled services at 10K and 20K miles). EVs add an 8 year / 100,000 mile battery warranty. Terms vary by model year, so confirm coverage on the specific year you buy.

Questions.

What warranty comes with a new Volkswagen?

Current model years carry a 4 year / 50,000 mile New Vehicle Limited Warranty, which also covers the powertrain, plus 2 years / 20,000 miles of Carefree scheduled maintenance. EVs add 8 year / 100,000 mile battery coverage. Terms have shifted across model years, so verify the coverage on the exact year you are buying.

Does the new Tiguan still have a third row?

No. The redesigned Tiguan is a dedicated five-seater with more room for the people it does carry. If you need three rows from VW, the Atlas is the answer, and it is one of the roomiest in its class.

Can you still get a manual GTI or Golf R?

No. Both are now DSG dual-clutch automatic only. The consolation: the DSG shifts faster than any human, and the GTI still starts in the mid $30Ks with 241 hp.

Is the ID.Buzz still available?

Volkswagen paused ID.Buzz production for the US 2026 model year, so what remains is new 2025 inventory on dealer lots. If you want one, the shrinking supply cuts both ways: less selection, but dealers are motivated to move them.

Atlas or Atlas Cross Sport: what's the difference?

Same platform, same 269 hp turbo, same 5,000 lb tow rating. The Atlas has three rows and seats seven; the Cross Sport trades the third row for a sportier roofline and a lower price. Need the extra seats, buy the Atlas. Never use them, save with the Cross Sport.
