Rivian builds electric trucks and SUVs for people who use the dirt, and the Southwest is their natural habitat: quad-motor traction for sand and rock, huge range on the highway, and a gear-first design with storage everywhere. The R1T pickup and R1S SUV are the current lineup, both in their upgraded second generation, with the smaller and much cheaper R2 and R3 on the way.

Every new Rivian carries a 5 year / 60,000 mile comprehensive warranty and 8 year / 175,000 mile battery and drivetrain coverage, among the longest battery terms in the industry.

Questions.

Where do Rivians charge?

Everywhere a Tesla does, plus the rest. Rivians can use Tesla Superchargers via NACS access, Rivian's own Adventure Network, and every major CCS network. Between those, Phoenix-to-Vegas and most Southwest road trips are easy, and daily charging happens at home.

How does a Rivian handle desert heat?

Well. The battery is liquid-cooled with an aggressive thermal management system, and Rivian's dog mode and pet comfort features keep the cabin conditioned while parked. Like any EV, expect somewhat less range at triple-digit temperatures with the AC working hard.

When is the cheaper Rivian R2 coming?

Rivian has the smaller R2 SUV slated to start around $45K, with the R3 to follow. Neither is on sale yet, so if you need a Rivian today it is R1T or R1S; if you can wait, the R2 is the affordability play.

Is Rivian service available in Arizona and Nevada?

Yes. Rivian operates service centers in the Phoenix and Las Vegas metros plus mobile service vans that come to you for many repairs. It is a direct-sales brand, so there is no traditional dealer network.

Do Rivians qualify for EV tax credits?

Incentive rules have shifted repeatedly and the broad federal new-EV credit lapsed for most buyers in late 2025. Some state and utility programs still offer EV incentives, so check what currently applies in Arizona or Nevada before you count on savings.
